Net Zero 2050 – Future Leaders Programme

Net Zero 2050 – Future Leaders Programme

Mission – to mobilise and raise a generation of business leaders who are committed to driving change to deliver net zero by 2050

Vision – to have leaders who trailblaze a culture of collaboration and innovation to create globally leading industries that will reverse climate change

ValuesInclusion, Collaboration, Results

  • Inclusion: because we need talent from every corner to contribute
  • Collaboration: because the challenge is bigger than any individual
  • Results: because there is no point doing this if we don’t make a tangible difference

Programme Outline

Module 1 – Mission

0900 – 1300hrs

At the beginning of the Future Leaders Programme we set out why leadership is important, what key qualities are required to be effective as a leader and explore the ‘mission’ that you will undertake. Outcome = clarity of purpose for your mission as a leader.

Module 2 – Make Capacity

0900 – 1300hrs

The sense-making module of the Future Leaders Programme uses diagnostic tools, an EIZone App and various models to explore what is really going on for you as a leader, how to make yourself more resilient as a person and steps to develop your emotional intelligence so that you can stay focussed on what is most important in your leadership journey. Outcome = ability to make capacity.

Module 3 – Think Differently

0900 – 1300hrs

Managers fear change, leaders make change. As we journey towards Net Zero we need to be able to think differently about how we lead. Module 4 uses LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) methodology and materials to get you thinking differently about your leadership and your business. LSP is a hands-on, minds-on creative learning process that produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of your leadership and presents real solutions to live challenges that you are facing. Future Leader Programme delegates will be surprised at how impactful (and fun) the thinking differently module is. Outcome = to think differently about solutions.

Module 4 – Empower Others

0900 – 1300hrs

The Empower Others module of the Future Leaders Programme equips you with the essential skills that will allow you to deliver through others with improved engagement, commitment and performance. For Future Leaders, this is where leadership is at, in a world that needs to be more inclusive, collaborative and delivers results.  Outcome = empower others towards the mission.

In the Application Phase delegates are invited to undertake a project. The Future Leaders Programme Leadership Council will provide guidance on projects, which will demonstrate tangible and explicit progress in driving businesses towards Net Zero. The Application Phase begins with a strategy and project planning workshop, followed by monthly Leadership Mentoring Groups which will include site visits and talks on topics such as mitigation, adaptation and commercial awareness.

0900 – 1300hrs

Project Planning

0900 – 1300hrs

Leadership Mentoring Groups

0900 – 1530hrs

Assessment & Graduation

0900 – 1530hrs

The leadership journey never really ends; after all, life is a journey, not a destination. In Module 5 we use a powerful method that utilises the collective power of the group to assess how well you are ‘mission accomplished’ whilst also providing challenge, encouragement and support for the onward journey. Outcome = celebrate success, build confidence, highlight next steps.

Following graduation at the end of the Application Phase, delegates are invited to join an ongoing network of leaders who collaborate and assemble periodically to review progress towards Net Zero, challenge each other and drive accountability.
