More businesses sign up to Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) has unveiled the latest companies to sign up to the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment, to achieve net zero carbon in operation for all building areas under their direct control by 2030, and to advocate for all buildings to be net zero carbon by 2050.

The new signatories will be highlighted during UKGBC’s flagship World Green Building Week virtual event, ‘The Road to COP26’, where the Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, Kwasi Kwarteng MP, will give a keynote.

Kwarteng will address the role of built environment businesses in showing leadership and action on the climate crisis as the UK gears up to host the UN Climate Summit, COP26, in November next year.

The latest UKGBC member signatories are:

AECOM (UK & Ireland), global infrastructure consultancy

Argent LLP, major property developer

Grainger PLC, one of the UK’s largest professional landlords

Greengage Environmental Limited, sustainability consultancy

Hoare Lea LLP, leading engineering consultancy

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), global commercial real estate services company

Lendlease Europe, a leading international property and infrastructure group

SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) one of the world’s largest architectural firms

These firms follow Mott MacDonald and Tritax Big Box who were announced last month and a full list of organisations is available on WorldGBC’s website
